Our Women's National Team secured its second victory in as many matches in Group B of the Nations League C Division. In a match held at AEK Arena, Cyprus defeated Georgia 2-1 and now sits at the top of the group with six points.

A significant achievement for our National Team, laying the foundation for a strong campaign in the group.

The score was determined in the first half, with Andri Violari scoring both goals for Cyprus, while Georgia reduced the deficit just before halftime.

First half:

Before the first minute was completed, our team opened the scoring with a close-range finish from Andri Violari, following a low cross from Eirini Michail.

After the goal, Georgia applied pressure and created some chances but failed to equalize.

Cyprus withstood the pressure and doubled the lead in the 28th minute when Violari scored with a powerful header from a Chrysostomou corner kick.

In the 32nd minute, Violari came close to completing a hat-trick, but her close-range effort missed the target.

Georgia pulled one back in the 44th minute with a header from Danelia.

Second half

The first significant chance of the second half belonged to Georgia, with Matthaiou making a difficult save to deny Bakratze’s close-range shot.

Cyprus responded in the 71st minute when Eirini Michail had a great opportunity from close range but couldn’t find the target.

In the 83rd minute, Michail once again forced the Georgian goalkeeper into a tough save with a powerful shot.

The 2-1 scoreline remained until the final whistle, with our players celebrating another important victory.
